Capanna Pizzeria is a friendly neighbourhood restaurant located in the heart of Saskatoon in the Riversdale community. We serve a wide selection of appetizers, thin crust Italian style pizzas, and house made desserts. We utilize high quality imports and locally grown produce to ensure that our menu tastes fresh and full of flavour. We feature a well curated wine list that compliments our food, as well as locally distilled liquors and craft beer.
The idea of Capanna Pizzeria was born when a group of Saskatoon friends couldn't find a pizzeria that served the high quality, thin crust pizza that they were craving. They opened Riversdale Delicatessen and Market in order to bring in the food items that they wanted to see on their pizzas, and hired on Chef Darby Kells to design and execute the menu. The result is a menu that focuses on fresh, flavourful, quality ingredients.
Chef Darby Kells
Our Executive Chef, Darby Kells, was born and raised in Saskatoon. He grew up eating fresh garden vegetables and locally sourced products. As a young adult he came to discover that he was passionate about food and decided to pursue a career in cooking. After completing his apprenticeship in Saskatoon he moved to Calgary to elevate his level of training. He primarily worked at Q Haute Cuisine where he excelled in the area of fine dining French cuisine. He moved back to Saskatoon with his wife and children to apply what he learned throughout his career at Capanna Pizzeria.
Our General Manager, Clive Atkins was born and raised in Calgary, but is now happy to call Saskatoon home. He has been working in the restaurant industry in management roles for over 10 years. Fueled by the pursuit of the perfect guest experience, as well as an extreme love for pizza, he's excited to be working with the amazing team at Capanna Pizzeria and Riversdale Deli. He also has two amazing young sons who inspire Clive daily to excel at everything he does.
